Looking North. 2 hour exposure made up from 120 30s exposures every 30s. I guess I have a flight path over my garden!?
Orion, from the back garden.
Star trails around the pole star, about 12 minutes I think - measure the angle if you want to know!
Jupiter and the Galilean satellites
Tamron 500mm on my EOS 450d - manual everything!
Taurus, Pleides, Jupiter and a rose
Jupiter and the Galiean satellites zoomed in.
Gibbous moon. 500mm lens f/8
Half-moon. 500mm lens f/8.
Orion. A bit of real colour in Betelgeuse (top left) and the orion nebula shows up too. 50mm f1.4 15s. Annoying light pollution caused by a large conurbation to the south i.e. London!
St Mary's Chesham with new moon, Venus and Jupiter
Ursa Major, The Plough or Big Dipper. An attempt to show the true colours of the stars. Alcor and Mizar (visual double star) show up well but the colours are off because they are A stars!
Orion. Out of focus so that the colours show up. Betelgeuse (top left) is a red giant. Rigel (bottom right) much hotter but smaller so blue-violet.
so called "supermoon" June 23rd 2013. Tamron 500mm f/8 with yellow filter converted to BW
Saturn
with a 500mm f/8 lens in the back garden
Star trails with Perseid meteors August 2013
Perseid meteor
Gibbous moon, from the back garden.
Almost full moon, aberration from the canon 70-300mm kit lens - now upgraded.
Comet Lovejoy
Best I could do on a windy, moonlit night from the back garden. Taken at 200mm and ISO 6400 and noise reduced in post.
Comet Lovejoy again
Similar to previous shot but ISO 12800 which is noisy as anything on the 7D. Noise reduced in post.
